January 26 (posted and wrote this a lil late. today's Jan 31)
So I haven't really remembered what happened that morning. We had our breakfast. Thinking about it makes me realized how much I missed eating the vietnamese yogurt for breakfast! Ahhh why don't they sell vinamilk yogurt in the Phils? suxx. That morning I really transformed into a young lady. Wore a dress and a hairband which is very unusual since I am known for always wearing jeans or short and a shirt wherever I go, so they were a bit shock when they saw me, I mean my family. I was really confident about my outfit since my sister told me we were going to have our Mekong trip that day which means water and wind.
I was really happy until my mom said we aren't having our Mekong trip yet instead we're going to Cuchi Tunnel. Wow. Just wow. That angered me. I was really excited to see the water and thinks how appropriate my outfit's gonna be, but we're not seeing the river. We're gonna crawl a tunnel. I was just like sitting there and I kept on thinking What The Fuck inside my head. Ahhhh! This isn't happening but it did. So I went to Cuchi Tunnel on a dress. Wow. But my outfit didn't really stopped me for enjoying the place. I still enjoyed it though a bit awkward since I was going inside the tunnel and the first level of the tunnel is like 2m deep from the surface and the space inside is made for petite people and you know I am big so I was almost on my knees inside the tunnel I can kiss it and the dress made it worse since I have to keep on holding my bottom to avoid the person on my back see the censored part. haha.
Our trip to Cuchi Tunnel was fun it took us about 3 hours to finish it and after that we went back to Saigon since the Cuchi Tunnel is located outside the city. When we arrived in the city we told our tour guide to not drop us yet in our hotel but instead to drop us in the war museum because we weren't able to visit it on our first day because of red sea.. if you know what I mean. So we went to the War museum and it welcomed us with the tanks that the Americans used during the Vietnam-America war during the 1960's. Inside the museum are pictures of the memories of the war including John Hecks who I read was the first and the only american pilot who resigned in flying the aircraft and bombed Vietnam.
During my tour in the War Museum I can really say that I have learned a lot of things though it is much like a one-sided story because they only posted the sufferings the Vietnamese experienced during the war and how the Americans let them suffer but they haven't posted anything about the American soldiers sufferings under the Vietnamese people. But still, the information they have given there are very interesting. I saw how the Vietnamese people used their brains just to survive the terror and how the Vietnamese kids sacrificed their childhood just to live.
We spent about 2 hours in the museum. After the museum tour, my twin brothers and I saw a school outside the museum and saw that there are alot of streetfoods near its gate. So we went to check it out and bought almost everything we see just to try it all. In all fairness, their streetfood is really yummy though they're not that hygienic because they don't use gloves they just use barehands to prepare their food in the streets.
When we are on our way home, we got lost. So our hotel is located in District 1 and so is the war museum. It's like a 15 minute walk. But we aren't really observant of the place and trying to get back to our hotel we ended up in District 3. Can you imagine that? hahaha. When we were about to give up we asked two ladies who was near us and learned that they are also Filipinos who lives in Cagayan de Oro City. So they gave us the directions to our hotel and thankfully after a 30 minute walk from District 3 we arrived in our hotel. We were just laughing about what happened because it doesn't really seemed like we got lost it's like we just wandered around the streets of Vietnam. haha. After that we freshen up and ate dinner at Night Market.
And that was how our second day in Vietnam went. :p
